1. Welcome to Dreamsquare

These Terms of Use apply to your access to and use of the Dreamsquare platform, including the website, mobile applications, and all related services. By using the platform, you agree to these terms and all applicable laws and regulations.

Dreamsquare B.V. is established in the Netherlands and registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce.

2. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create a Dreamsquare account with accurate and current information. You are responsible for:

  • Account Security: Keeping your password confidential and securing your account.
  • Account Integrity: Not using the service for illegal or unauthorized purposes.
  • Current Information: Updating your account details when they change, particularly your email address (used for reminders and notices).

3. Intellectual Property

The book content on Dreamsquare is based on public domain works. The modernized versions, micro versions, translations, audio versions, and their presentation are and remain the property of Dreamsquare. You may access the content solely for personal, non-commercial use.

4. User Conduct

As a Dreamsquare user, you agree not to:

  • Upload content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Impersonate any person or entity.
  • Circumvent technical measures that restrict access to content.
  • Use the service in a manner that interferes with other users.

5. Moon Coin Credits

Moon Coins are Dreamsquare's digital credits that allow you to unlock access to individual books, audiobooks, and other digital content on the platform. Moon Coins are not currency, stored value, or gift cards within the meaning of financial services legislation, but function as a prepaid usage right for digital content.

5.1 Purchasing Moon Coins

Moon Coins can be purchased through the Dreamsquare platform at the prices in effect at the time of purchase. All prices include applicable VAT. Upon purchase, you will receive a digital confirmation showing the number of Moon Coins purchased, the price paid, and the expiry date.

Right of Withdrawal: Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), you have a 14-day cooling-off period after purchasing Moon Coins, provided you have not yet used them. By spending Moon Coins on content, you consent to the immediate delivery of digital content and waive your right of withdrawal for the spent portion, in accordance with applicable consumer protection law.

5.2 Validity and Expiry

Moon Coins are valid for a period of 24 months (2 years) from the date of purchase. After this period, unused Moon Coins expire automatically without any right to a refund or compensation. This applies per individual purchase: each batch of Moon Coins has its own expiry date based on the moment of purchase.

Dreamsquare will send reminders to the email address associated with your account:

  • 30 days before expiry: A first reminder stating the number of Moon Coins about to expire and the exact expiry date.
  • 7 days before expiry: A final reminder.

Failure to receive reminders (e.g., due to an incorrect email address, spam filter, or technical issue) does not affect the expiry period. You are responsible for spending your Moon Coins in time.

5.3 Spending Moon Coins

When you spend Moon Coins on a book or other digital item, you gain permanent access to that item — even if your remaining Moon Coins later expire or your account becomes temporarily inactive. Content unlocked once remains tied to your account as long as your account is active.

Note: Upon deletion of your account (see section 7), access to previously unlocked content is also revoked.

5.4 Refunds

Moon Coin purchases are non-refundable, except:

  • Within the statutory 14-day cooling-off period, provided the Moon Coins have not been used.
  • In the case of a demonstrable technical error that caused Moon Coins to be deducted incorrectly.

Expired Moon Coins are not eligible for refund, extension, or conversion.

5.5 Transferability

Moon Coins are personal and non-transferable. They cannot be sold, traded, gifted, or otherwise transferred to third parties. Attempts to transfer Moon Coins may result in suspension or termination of your account.

6. Limitation of Liability

Dreamsquare is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the service. Total liability is limited to the amount you have paid to Dreamsquare in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7. Inactive Accounts and Account Deletion

7.1 Inactive Accounts

If you do not log in to the Dreamsquare platform for 24 months:

  • You will receive an email asking you to confirm your account.
  • You will have 30 days to log in and keep your account active.
  • If there is no response within this 30-day period, your account will be marked as inactive. Any remaining Moon Coin balance will expire at that point (or will have already expired under the 24-month purchase-based expiry).

7.2 Account Deletion at Your Request

You can request to delete your account at any time. After the request:

  • Your account is placed in quarantine for 7 days.
  • During these 7 days, you can undo the deletion.
  • After 7 days, the account is permanently deleted, including all unused Moon Coins and access to unlocked content. This action is irreversible.

7.3 Termination by Dreamsquare

Dreamsquare may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms, without prior notice. In the event of termination by Dreamsquare due to a breach, you are not entitled to a refund of Moon Coins or subscription fees.

8. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands. This does not affect any rights you may have as a consumer under the mandatory law of your country of residence within the EU.

9. Changes to Terms

Dreamsquare may modify these terms. Material changes will be announced at least 30 days in advance by email. By continuing to use the service after the change, you agree to the updated terms. If you object, you may cancel your account in accordance with the applicable procedure.

10. Privacy

The processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these terms. Dreamsquare processes data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
